Metuchen Police Dept. pursues environmentally friendly practices


via Sentinel – The Metuchen Police Department is going green. While a new computer-aided dispatch (CAD) system is soon to be implemented, police said they have also been able to incorporate software called NCIC Green, from LawSoft Inc., which is allowing the department to go “paperless.”
“We receive [NCIC broadcast] messages constantly from departments all across New Jersey, and the printer prints out all these messages,” Patrolman David Liantonio said, noting that the NCIC Green software was implemented two weeks ago. “The software came along with the CAD system.” FULL STORY
